We specialize in growing, selling, and transplanting high-quality specimen trees, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and pride in our work. Position Overview We are hiring a dependable Farm Laborer to assist with all aspects of tree farm operations and same-day driving trips throughout the Treasure Valley. This hands-on role includes tree planting, staking, watering, pruning, irrigation, equipment operation, mechanical work, and supporting spade truck drivers during transplanting. Our operations rely on a wide range of equipment, including tractors with tillage tools (disc, rototiller, corrugators, chisel plows, cultivators, etc.), spade trucks for transplanting trees, skid steers for loading and bucket work, and an irrigation system using siphon tubes from concrete ditches. Key responsibilities On the Customer Job Site • Assist spade truck drivers with tree harvest and transplanting tasks (tying trees down on trucks, watering, staking). • Maintain professionalism and care when working on customer property. • Ensure all tools and equipment are safely loaded/unloaded at the job site. • Prepare and clean up customer job sites by clearing debris, leveling soil, and ensuring the area is left neat and safe. On the Farm • Operate skid steers to fill holes with soil after tree removal or transplanting. • Plant bare root ball trees in spring at farm and maintain their growth throughout the season. • Stake and water trees to ensure stability and healthy growth. • Operate tractors and tillage equipment (disc, rototiller, corrugator, chisel plow, cultivators, etc.) • Conduct routine tractor operation and maintenance to keep equipment safe and efficient. • Set up and monitor irrigation systems using siphon tubes from concrete ditches. • Fertilize, spray, prune, and monitor tree health as part of ongoing tree care. • Perform greasing and basic mechanical work on trucks, tractors, and farm equipment. • Clean and organize work areas; wash trucks, tractors, and equipment regularly. • Load and unload trees, materials, and supplies. General & Seasonal Duties • Maintain safe, organized work areas and follow all safety procedures. • Carry out all seasonal tasks: - Spring: tree harvest, planting, irrigation system - Summer: Irrigation monitoring, tree care - Fall/Winter: tree harvest and transplanting - Year-round: equipment maintenance and farm work • Record simple logs of irrigation schedules, fertilizer use, or equipment work when needed. Qualifications • Physically able to lift 50+ Ibs and work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn. • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. • Experience in farm work, tree care, or equipment operation preferred but not required. • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic repairs. • Team-oriented with attention to detail and safety; able to work independently when needed. Schedule & Pay • Monday-Friday; Saturdays during peak planting and irrigation seasons. • Competitive hourly wage with overtime opportunities. • Holidays off; work gear and training provided. • Growth opportunities within the farm.
