Seasonal Greenhouse Employee – Multiple Positions

Season: February through May ( position dependent) Pay: Competitive hourly wage (based on experience) We are hiring seasonal greenhouse employees for a fast-paced, physically demanding role during our peak growing and retail season. This position is ideal for reliable, hardworking individuals who thrive in active outdoor environments and understand the commitment required during our busiest months. ⚠️ Important: This is a highly physical, seasonal position. Responsibilities (position dependent) : • Greet customers and assist them in selecting plants and gardening products • Provide basic plant care guidance and product recommendations (on-the-job training provided) • Perform frequent lifting, loading, and moving of plants, soil, and supplies • Operate in outdoor and greenhouse environments in varying weather conditions • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment • Stock, water, and care for plants throughout the day • Process transactions accurately and efficiently • Answer customer questions in person and over the phone • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily sales and operational goals Physical & Scheduling Requirements • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift repeatedly for 6-8 hours per day • Must be able to regularly lift and carry 40 lbs • Must be available to work between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM • Weekends and holiday availability is required. • No time off granted in May unless pre-approved at time of hire (emergency exceptions) • Must be dependable and able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment Qualifications • Strong work ethic and positive attitude • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Ability to work efficiently under physical and time pressure • Interest in plants, gardening, or outdoor work is a plus (training provided) • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required Compensation & Perks • Competitive hourly pay • Employee discounts on plants and merchandise • Hands-on learning in gardening and horticulture • Supportive, team-oriented work environment Current Openings we are interviewing for: • Greenhouse Team: The Greenhouse Team is responsible for planting, watering, spacing, and caring for live plants in a fast-paced, hot and humid environment. This role involves constant movement, frequent lifting, and close attention to plant health and presentation. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on physical work and working behind the scenes to keep plants thriving. • Tree and Shrub Team: The Tree & Shrub Team handles the loading, unloading, watering, and customer assistance for large, heavy plant material. This is one of our most physically demanding roles, requiring repeated lifting, outdoor work in all weather, and direct customer assistance. Perfect for those who prefer outdoor labor and heavy equipment-style work. • Perennial Team: The Perennial Team maintains and sells plants varieties while assisting customers with plant selection and care. This role combines physical work such as watering, moving racks, and restocking with strong customer interaction. Great for applicants who enjoy both plant care and helping customers make confident garden choices. • Store Team: The Store Team focuses on customer service, cashiering, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, organized retail space. This role is fast-paced and requires standing for long periods, assisting customers with products, answering general gardening questions and keeping shelves stocked.
