Job Title: Farm Program Assistant About Oaks of Hebron: Based in Rohnert Park, Oaks of Hebron is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of adults with developmental disabilities in Sonoma County. We provide a range of services including residential support, a day program, recreational activities, and job assistance. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients through quality programming, in-home care, job support, and community involvement. Position Description: The Program Assistant will be responsible for the operational aspects of the farm, including cultivating land, planting, watering, and harvesting. The role includes instructing and supporting adults with developmental disabilities, maintaining farm equipment, and ensuring high-quality program delivery. This position reports to the Program Coordinator. Responsibilities: • Program Management: • Ensure compliance with Title 17 standards and requirements. • Implement and monitor the Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP) processes with appropriate staff. • Farm Administration: • Assist with farm oversight, including developing and implementing the annual growing plan. • Cultivate land, plant, water, and harvest crops. • Maintain and repair farm equipment and machinery. • Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas and tools. • Training and Support: • Train program participants and team members on farm operations and safety procedures. • Support adults with developmental disabilities in their community involvement and personal development. • Documentation and Reporting: • Complete necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner. • Plan and coordinate crop sales and manage related activities. Key Results Areas (KRA): • Farm Operations: • Develop and monitor the annual growing plan. • Plant crops according to the schedule. • Ensure proper growth and timely harvest of plants. • Coordinate sales and manage farm-related activities effectively. • Client and Team Relations: • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients. • Work effectively with the client’s circle of support and the Oaks team. • Proactively seek to enrich clients’ lives. • Professionalism: • Maintain high standards of attendance, punctuality, and dependability. • Complete tasks independently and thoroughly. • Timely respond to communication. • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and initiative. • Keep the work area organized and free from hazards. • Drive in a safe and professional manner. Physical Demands: • Frequently: Standing, Seeing, hearing, speaking, carrying, standing, and walking on various surfaces (e.g., pavement, gravel, uneven soil); using power and manual tools. • Occasionally: Sitting, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, twisting. Candidate Requirements: • Driving: Must have a clear driving record, reliable transportation, and a valid California Driver’s License. Legal minimum California Drivers Insurance is required to operate their vehicle and to be insurable under company policy. • Compliance: Ability to learn and implement regulatory standards and guidelines, including those from the Department of Developmental Services and North Bay Regional Center. • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, special education, or sociology is preferred. Prior experience in providing services to adults with developmental disabilities is essential. • Skills: Strong prioritization skills, ability to assess situations independently, and efficiency in task management. Compensation, Location, & Commitments: • Hourly Wage: Based on experience/qualifications. • Benefits: Sick leave, mileage reimbursement (must keep personal record of mileage), and cell phone reimbursement. • Location: Program site and various community locations.
