Nursery Workers (15 Positions) We are seeking 15 Nursery Workers to support apple harvesting and nursery operations in Kent and Montcalm Counties, Michigan. Main duties include picking apples according to color and quality standards, using ladders up to 16 feet, handling fruit carefully to prevent bruising, and meeting daily productivity goals. Workers will also perform general nursery tasks such as weeding, removing stones and roots, clearing reflective tarps, cleaning equipment, removing trellis wires and strings, caring for young trees, trimming and grading bare-root plants, boxing and stacking plants, scanning barcodes, and working in cooler environments. Some workers with valid driver's licenses may drive trucks, forklifts, dump carts, or skid steers. Applicants must have at least 3 months of verifiable nursery experience, be able to provide references, and be 18 years or older. The job requires extensive standing, walking, bending, climbing, and repetitive movements, as well as lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs. Work takes place in variable weather, from freezing temperatures to 105F, including wet conditions. Workers must follow all safety rules, attend orientation, stay in assigned work areas, and may be required to work Saturdays. Post-hire drug testing may occur upon reasonable suspicion or after an accident, paid by the employer.
