Lead Farm Hand - Stable Hand - Ranch Assistant - Equine Focus

HSMO’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch is looking for a Lead Ranch Assistant. Responsibilities include: • monitoring and checking the work of other employees and ranch volunteers, • performing proper care for all animals at the ranch, • adherence to established feeding, sanitation, medical procedures, • assisting and restraining animals for veterinarian and farrier, • and following all HSMO Adoption policies guidelines. The successful candidate should have professional horse handling experience including halter training and socializing, have or ability to obtain a Class E driver’s license, and horse hauling experience. Experience with other farm animals is desirable. Should be proficient in personal computing skills (Word, Excel, email and Internet). Prior lead or supervisory experience would be a plus. It also requires a flexible schedule and includes weekend work. Starting wage is $14.50/hour. This position is full time and eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability and sick/vacation time.
