Laborer Agricultural I

Position Summary(Basic Job Function) This is a temporary position. To perform and assist in routine agricultural labor. Unit Position Summary Move, load and unload supplies, materials, tools and equipment. Assist with the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of field crops Assist with plow & shovel snow, sand and salt clean barns, sheds, pens, and related agricultural facilities Operate tractors and trucks with attachments such as plows discs, drags, drills and cultivators Lubricate and assist in the routine maintenance of farm machinery and equipment Desired Qualifications Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator license One year of satifactory agricutural work experience Frequent lifting of 75 pounds or more May require possession of appropriate pesticide application registration/certification May require possession or attainment of an MSU forklift operator's permit prior to completion of applicable probation or trial period Equal Employment Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status.
