Need 35 full time, seasonal, temporary Greenhouse, Nursery Workers to work in Minneapolis, MN and Hugo, MN, from 12/08/2025 - 06/12/2026 with staggered starting dates as follows: 8 Workers beginning December 08, 2025 19 workers beginning December 29, 2025 8 workers starting January 19, 2026 Work: 40 hrs./week; Mon-Fri. 7 hrs./day, Sat. 5 hrs./day, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 03/08/2026 JOB DESCRIPTION: Worker Duties based on work assignment. Daily individual work assignments, crew assignments, and location of work, will be made by and at the sole discretion of the farm manger and/or farm supervisor as the needs of the farming operation dictate. Workers may be assigned a variety of duties in any given day and/or different tasks on different days. Workers will be expected to perform any of the listed duties and work on any crop as assigned by the worker's supervisor. All workers must maintain safe and clean working areas. 1. Assistant Grower position. Under supervision, grow, care for, maintain horticultural products. Apply technical procedures, timing and metering devices that control nutrient applications; regulate humidity, ventilation, temperature and amount of light; dispense fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides. Monitors crop development and the removal of substandard plants to maintain quality standards. 2. Sowing Line Support position. Place barcode labels on trays. Bring pallets of supplies to sowing area using pallet jack. Place trays onto production line, tables or carts. Refill cover soil hopper. Plant seeds into growing media by machine or by hand. Operate table stacker and de-stacker. Organize trays on tables or carts. Print, organize and prepare reports as needed. 3. Soils, Transplant, & Cutting position. Bring pallets of supplies to soil and planting areas using pallet jack. Place pots into trays. Place trays onto production line, tables or carts. Place barcode labels and pictures tags onto product by hand or applicator machine. Transplanting - move plugs from tray to larger tray, pot or container. Grading - select plants of uniform size and development. Organize trays to be planted and/or planted trays on tables or carts. 4. Transport position. Stack tables manually or by stacking machine. Remove carts or stacks of tables from germination chambers and unstack using table crane. Move tables using Roll-A-Bahn system or table carts. Install 'yellow sticky tape' for insect control. Organize product in correct order. Locate trays and crops in greenhouse. Work with growing staff daily to ensure all production spacing needs are efficiently and accurately completed. Organize trays on tables or carts. Maintain availability of tables for all. Ensure crop cards follow the life of the product from beginning to end. 5. Quality Control & Replug position. Digging - Remove soil from empty cells. Patch trays - Fill empty cells with plants. Grading - Select plants of similar size and development. Trim cuttings with scissors, removing flowers/leaves, etc. Place trays onto production line, tables or carts. Organize trays on tables or carts. 6. Shipping position. Assemble boxes, pick plants, pack boxes, scan, and move to the delivery area. Load and unload trucks. Organize shipping area regularly to ensure proper stock of supplies are available. Communicate with customers when loading orders. Assist in training seasonal workers in shipping tasks. All work is physically demanding. Workers may be requested to work 12+ hours per day depending upon the conditions in the fields and maturity of the crops but will not be required to do so. Also, the workers may be requested to work on federal holidays and on their Sabbath but will not be required to do so. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Down Time: Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer s control. These periods can occur anytime throughout the season. The employer does post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug testing. Workers may be subject to post accident drug testing at no cost to the employee. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance.
