Greenhouse/Nursery Assistant Grower

Job Title: Greenhouse/Nursery Assistant Grower Job Summary: Work side by side with the production staff planting, watering, growing and maintaining crops. Monitor the crops for growth, proper irrigation, fertilization, weeding, insects, disease. General Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Minimum of two years prior experience in greenhouse/planting operation required. • Must enjoy working with plants, both indoors and outdoors, and performing physical labor. • Able to work in all weather types, and some overtime in May and September. Able to work some weekends. • Be flexible and multi-tasked with problem-solving ability, attention to detail, friendliness, and the ability to build rapport with team members. • Willing to accept and adapt to change and to work in a hectic environment. • Have numerical aptitude and ability to prioritize tasks quickly. • Have strong organizational, verbal/written communication, training, and planning skills. • Possess professionalism, sense of pride, and integrity to excel in this position. • Possess or have the ability of obtain a Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator's certification. This position develops into or can start off being the Head Grower position for the right person. Depends upon previous experience. We are a small (10-15 employees during peak season), woman-owned business located outside of Madison.
