Gardener

Gardener Our Horticulture team is seeking a skilled Gardener to join our team. The City of Springfield's Public Grounds department is responsible for designing, planning, planting, and managing vegetation along city right-of-ways, facility grounds, and beautification projects within the city. This role involves effectively managing these areas to provide a safe environment and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors. Responsibilities include: • Three years of experience in arboriculture, horticulture, forestry, or a related field; • Completion of 23 hours of horticulture, forestry, or related coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of experience; Preferred qualifications include irrigation experience. Required licenses and certifications include: • A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker and air brake endorsements; and • A State of Missouri Certified Public Operator License in Ornamental and Turf category and a valid International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist certificate; The City of Springfield promotes equal employment opportunities and is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability and Vet.
