Farm Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of a diverse agricultural enterprise. This role is critical for ensuring the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of the farm. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of modern farming techniques, crop management, livestock care, and equipment operation. This is an on-site position requiring hands-on involvement in all aspects of farm operations. Responsibilities: Develop and implement annual farming plans, including crop rotation, planting, and harvesting schedules. Manage livestock operations, ensuring animal health, welfare, and productivity. Oversee the maintenance and operation of farm machinery and equipment. Supervise and direct farm labor, providing training and guidance. Manage irrigation systems and soil conservation practices. Monitor crop health and implement pest and disease control strategies. Maintain detailed records of crops, yields, livestock, expenses, and labor. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Manage the purchasing of seeds, fertilizers, feed, and other supplies. Contribute to the farm's financial planning and budgeting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in farm management or a similar agricultural role. Strong knowledge of crop production, soil science, and pest management. Experience with livestock management (specific to farm type, e.g., cattle, poultry, swine). Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm equipment. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Knowledge of agricultural technology and sustainable farming practices is a plus. Valid driver's license.
