Harvick Farms is seeking a full-time Assistant Farm Manager to support our production and CSA operations. This position is hands-on and focused on small-scale vegetable and herb production as well as value-added product preparation and distribution. This role requires a strong work ethic, a passion for sustainable farming, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead and mentor seasonal staff while also performing day-to-day farm tasks. The Assistant Farm Manager will gain deep experience in crop production, post-harvest handling, CSA box assembly, and value-added product processing. Schedule & Compensation Full-Time Schedule: 36-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend or evening tasks during peak season Season Length: Year-round, with some flexibility in winter months Starting Pay: $15/hour Evaluation: 6-month review for potential raise to $20/hour Benefits: In-kind CSA box weekly, access to farm produce Responsibilities Manage small-scale vegetable and herb production from planting to harvest Oversee post-harvest handling, storage, and processing of produce and value-added products Assemble and distribute CSA boxes to subscribers Maintain inventory, production records, and basic farm documentation Lead seasonal staff in production and processing tasks Ensure farm operations follow sustainable and organic practices whenever possible Minimum Requirements 2+ years of hands-on farm experience, preferably in vegetable/herb production Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and work outdoors in all weather conditions Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to team collaboration Bonus Skills Experience with small farm equipment (weed whackers, mowers, tractors) Prior management or crew leadership experience on farms or in other sectors Experience with value-added product processing (herbs, teas, seasonings) Basic carpentry or farm maintenance skills Opportunities Grow with the farm: potential to take on more responsibility in CSA and value-added product management Hands-on training in sustainable small-scale farming Close collaboration with farm owners on planning, crop selection, and farm operations Must have valid drivers license Pass background check Pass a drug screen Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week Benefits: • Employee discount Work Location: In person
